The Republic of Pink Bliss Sugar Scrub

I am a huge fan of scrubs.  My skin *loves* to act up.  It’s very bratty skin.  The moment I neglect it, it will begin to cause trouble!  It’ a problem child.  Definitely!  Therefore, I adore scrubs.  A good scrub will begin to whip my problem child skin back into behaving itself.  Especially if I use it regularly.

Ulta used to have a sugar scrub in their Ulta line that I *loved*.  When they discontinued it (booo!), I was forced to search for a new one.  Recently I shopped at Ulta and got a tub of The Republic of Pink Sugar Scrub.  It’s described as “exfoliating madness” so how could I resist trying it? It’s $12.50 on and you get 7.5 oz.  What I really like about this scrub is that it is not oily.  A lot of the sugar scrubs I have tried are very oily.  I don’t mind it so much on my skin, but you will find that they leave a coating on your tub or shower, making it very slippery and sometimes downright dangerous to stand on, and it’s difficult to rinse off the tile, so it stays slippery for a bit.  This scrub doesn’t do that much at all, while still making my skin very soft after use.  It smells yummy, with a nice light scent and you don’t need to use a lot, so it lasts, too.  It’s got Shea butter as one of its main ingredients and shea butter is well known for being an excellent moisturizer.  You may not know this, but regular use of Shea butter will actually help your skin become more able to retain moisture.  So look for Shea butter in those skin products ladies!

Overall, I am really loving this scrub.  The only thing about it that I do not love, is that it doesn’t state that they don’t test on animals, and I much prefer to buy products that absolutely do NOT test on animals.  Aside from that, I recommend giving this a try.  I will, however be keeping my eyes open for a non animal tested sugar body scrub.  Sugar scrubs seem a bit elusive as of late!  I will be shopping around though and if you have a favorite, I would love to hear about it!

Four out of Five Stars.  They lose a star for testing on animals!
